Yesterday, between 17:30hrs and 18:00 hrs, an intelligence-led police operation was carried out by ranks from ‘A’ Division and Headquarters at a house in Unity Street, Festival City, Georgetown during which two illegal firearms and ammunition were found.
A search was conducted at the said property where a black .9MM Glock Pistol (serial number filed off), along with three matching rounds of ammunition, were found.
A further search was conducted by the police ranks in the northeastern bedroom of the house and a .32 Sterling Pistol with the serial number also filed off and without magazine was found on the bed.
Three persons who were at the house at the time of the intel operation were arrested. The suspects were told of the offence and they were escorted to the East La Penitence Police station where they were placed in custody pending investigation.
The firearms were lodged in their presence as investigations continue.
