A man is now in hot water after he was found with 1,814 grammes (3.9lbs) of cannabis in a haversack at a police roadblock in Region Five yesterday.
According to police, Weldaad Police Station ranks around 14:30hrs stopped and searched motorcar HD 2424 which was driven by a 50-year-old male and carrying a lone male passenger.
Police reported that they found a parcel in a brown haversack carried by the passenger, which contained a number of cannabis leaves, seeds and stems.
The passenger was told of the offence, arrested, and cautioned before he admitted ownership of the cannabis.
The parcel was subsequently weighed and it amounted to be 1814 grammes. He was placed in custody as further investigations continue.
