Police say that 24-year-old Cleon Venture of Lot “A” Melville, Wakenaam, is now nursing injuries he sustained after he lost control of a motorcycle on the Noitgedacht Public Road, Wakenaam, around 17:50hrs yesterday.
Venture, according to police, is unlicensed.
The young man reportedly fell onto the road’s surface before sliding under the front portion of the stationary motorcar which was parked on the parapet of the road.
As a result, he received injuries to his head and about his body. He was picked up in a conscious state by public-spirited persons and taken to the Wakenaam Cottage Hospital before his transfer to the Suddie Public Hospital, where he is now a patient. His condition is listed as stable.
As police continue their investigations, the Traffic Department is appealing to persons to use the roadways with care, caution, courtesy, consideration and common sense.
The force is urging unlicensed persons to desist from driving and apply for certification.
