Detectives probing the disappearance of US citizen, Rohan Kirpaul Mangra called “Paul” are in receipt of two surveillance footage from different hotels around the city showing the now missing man and two male acquaintances inquiring about rooms early on March 16.

The 28-year-old man was last seen by his relatives on March 15, last when he left his Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara home to hang out with friends. Shortly after this, all calls to his phone went unanswered.

A one million dollar reward is now being offered for information. It was the reward that resulted in cops receiving several leads thus far and are said to be close to cracking the case.

Up to press time, ranks had reviewed surveillance footage at two hotels around Georgetown. Both showed the young man entering with two males, inquiring about rooms. Both hotels were fully booked.

Information received is that the 28-year-old man had been spending “heavily” at all the entertainment spots he visited prior to looking for rooms.

A police source said that at the last hotel, the footage showed the US citizen entering a Church Street hotel around 02:00 am on March 16,last with the two males and requested a room. He was however told that all the rooms were already booked out.

The trio then left the premises and headed in the direction of a nearby casino. Up to press time, ranks were trying to access footage from that business place.

More information will follow as it becomes available.
