A 47-year-old driver of Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) was robbed around 01:30hrs today at D’Urban Backlands by two men, one of whom was armed with a knife.
The man was relieved of one Samsung Galaxy phone valued at $45,000, one silver band valued at $60,000, one gold ring valued at $80,000 and one keypad valued at $40,000.
According to police, the man was parked in the vicinity of the Chinese Embassy while awaiting a customer when he was confronted by the suspects.
Police were told that the armed suspect pulled out a knife from the waist of his pants, pointed it at the victim’s neck and they both relieved him of the mentioned articles before making good their escape.
A report was made and police are currently investigating.
