Three persons were charged yesterday in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at Goedverwagting, East Coast Demerara on April 6th, 2022.
The three suspects are Adrian Fernandes, a 30-year-old labourer of South Vryheid’s Lust, ECD who was arrested on 2022-4-11; Gladwin McDonald, a 30-year-old labourer of Goedverwagting Squatting Area, ECD who was arrested on 2022-4-10; and Emanuel Payne, a 23-year-old of Lot 128 Goedverwgating Housing Scheme who was arrested on 2022-4-11, respectively by ranks of Sparendaam Police Station.
They were charged jointly with the offence of Robbery Under Arms Contrary to Section 222 (c) of the Criminal Laws (offences) Act Chapter 8:01.
The robbery victim is 50-year-old Alex Adridge of Lot 23 Goedverwagting Squatting Area, ECD.
All three accused attended the Sparendaam Magistrate Court #2 today before Her Worship Miss A. George where the charge was read to them.
They pleaded not guilty and were remanded to prison until May 16, 2022.
