Police Constable 23131 Hill was today charged with the offence of simple larceny committed on Ravindra Singh, a 27-year-old businessman of Hubu Public Road, East Bank Essequibo.
Police have not disclosed the full name of the constable nor have they said what he is accused of stealing. Also, they have not provided any picture of the accused. The media was, however, informed that the incident occurred on April 14, 2022, at Singh’s business place at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo.
Constable Hill appeared at the Leonora Magistrate Court before Her Worship Magistrate Miss Zameena Seepaul-Ali.
He pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him, and bail was granted at $10,000.
The case was postponed until June 3, 2022, for report.
