Warren Harris, 36, of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, was on Wednesday charged and sentenced to eight months in prison for the offence of cultivating prohibited plants, Contrary to Section 8(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and psychotropic substance (control) Act Chapter 10:10.
Harris, who was arrested by police ranks on Tuesday, appeared before Her Worship Magistrate Ms. Zameena Ali-Seepaul at the Leonora Magistrate Court, where he plead guilty to the offence and was subsequently given the aforementioned sentence.
