Yardan Jacobs, a 27-year-old labourer of lot 5S North Sophia, succumbed on Tuesday at 17:00hrs at the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was receiving treatment for injuries he sustained in a shooting incident.
The incident occurred on Saturday April 16, 2022, at about 00:00 hrs at the Tanary Area, North Sophia.
Investigations revealed that the now deceased (Yarden Jacobs) was “liming” with his cousin Steve Bacchus when he got into an argument with the suspect.
As a result, Steve Bacchus intervened which caused the suspect to pull out a firearm from his pants pocket and discharged several rounds in the direction of the two cousins.
As such, the now-deceased received a gunshot wound to his lower back.
Police Corporal 20844 Brown visited the hospital on Tuesday at about 18:00hrs to check on the mentioned victims and was informed by medical personnel that Jacobs had succumbed to his injury.
