Police are investigating a robbery under arms committed against Shilon Lawrence, a 24-year-old soldier of Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie Linden, that occurred around 22:20hrs on Thursday.
Enquires disclosed that the victim was relaxing on his veranda when he was pounced upon by two men. Lawrence was struck to his head with a firearm.
They then took his cell phone and his motorcycle key out of his hand, and one of the suspects then discharged a shot in the air.
They both made good their escape on foot in an eastern direction.
The matter was reported to the police on Thursday, May 5, 2022, and the scene was processed, photographed, and canvassed for CCTV cameras.
One suspected .32 spent shell was recovered on the verandah.
Investigations are ongoing.
