A Bartica, Region Seven woman is now in police custody after her son, 21-year-old Keshan Blackman of Lot 31, Fifth Avenue, Bartica, was wounded during an argument with her.
Investigations revealed that the incident occurred during an argument between the man and his 49-year-old mother around 10:00hrs on May 8, 2022.
During the row, it is alleged that woman was wielding a knife and a cutlass. Her son is said to have “ran into her”. He received a wound to his right side abdomen.
He was then rushed to the Bartica Regional Hospital, where he was examined and later referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) for further medical attention. His condition is listed as critical.
The suspect was arrested and is in custody assisting with the investigations.
