Cops in Regional Division Five are investigating a fatal incident that occurred Thursday on the Bushy Park Public Road at Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara (ECD), which resulted in the death of 25-year-old Eshwar Arjune.
The incident which occurred around 07:40hrs, involved three vehicles: motorcar, PCC 5219, driven by the now-deceased; motorcar, HD 2859, driven by 26-year-old Kevin Bagot; and a motor Jeep, PJJ 8723, driven by 19-year-old Jhatan Sukhlal.
Further enquiries revealed that Arjune was heading east along the road, when the jeep rammed into the back of the car, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, before colliding with the incoming car, HD 2859.
As a result of the collision, the driver of HD 2859, along with his reputed wife, and Arjune received injuries to their bodies. They were all picked up and transported to the Mahaicony Public Hospital where the 25-year-old man was pronounced dead.
The driver of motorcar HD 2859, along with his reputed wife are both in an unconscious state and receiving medical attention at the Mahaicony Public Hospital.
The 19-year-old driver of the jeep was given a breathalyzer test which recorded zero micrograms of alcohol. He is in custody and assisting with the ongoing investigation.
