A 62-year-old driver, Dalip Singh, of Shell Road Kitty, Georgetown, is now nursing injuries he receiving during a devastating accident at Tuseneng, North Pakaraima, Region Eight last Friday.
Guyana Standard understands that the accident occured while Singh was driving motor lorry, GAB 5892, which was laden with goods and fuel, east along the Tuseneng road.
It was reported that the vehicle was unable to ascend a steep hill, and it began to reverse. Singh reportedly lost control of the lorry, causing the vehicle to turn turtle before coming to a stop.
As a result, he received serious injuries and he was picked up by public spirited persons and taken to Tuseneng Health Center before being referred to the Mahdia District Hospital.
At about 13:30hrs yesterday, Singh was flown to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation for further medical attention. His condition is regarded as serious but stable.
