At about 13:00hrs on Monday, a cattle farmer of Cummings Lodge, ECD went to the Enmore Police Outpost and reported that while grazing his cattle at Enmore backlands, he stumbled upon a partially decomposed body of a man.
He was accompanied by an Inspector and a party of policemen to the area where, on arrival, the body of the deceased was in an advanced stage of decomposition.
The body was clad in a red jersey, blue short pants and black cap. It was lying under a light blue mosquito netting on some cloth and salt bags.
Two bottles of insecticide were seen next to the body.
The scene was processed and photographed. The body of the deceased man was identified as 56-year-old Vijaimal Raj, by his son, Besham Raj.
Vijaimal Raj was wanted by the police for the murder of his wife, Savitri Raj, just over a month ago at Foulis, East Coast Demerara.
