Alliance for Change (AFC) Executive and former government minister, David Patterson will be vying for leadership of the party at its conference set for June 11, 2022. He will go against the current Leader, Khemraj Ramjattan. Eight groups nominated both members.
Those competing for the party’s chairmanship are Catherine Hughes, Khemraj Ramjattan, Sherod Duncan and Juretha Fernandes, while Ricky Ramsaroop, Devin Sears, Hughes and Valerie Garrido-Lowe will seek to attain the Vice Chairperson position.
Sherod Duncan, Catherine Hughes, Juretha Fernandes, Ricky Ramsaroop, Neilson McKenzie, Khemraj Ramjattan and Michael Carrington will also vie for the General Secretary post.
In addition to these key Executive posts, 55 members are vying for the 12 elected members of the National Executive Committee (NEC).
The Alliance For Change National Conference will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2022, and will see 285 delegates representing Guyana, the USA, Canada, the UK, the Caribbean, the Women for Change (WFC) and the Youth For Change (YFC). Fifty observers will also attend.
