Chrisgaichan Narine, 19, called ‘Boyo’, a Construction Worker of Lot 137 Recht-Door-Zee, West Bank Demerara (WBD) was stabbed to death yesterday.
The incident occured at Independence Drive, in the vicinity of Third Avenue, La Parfaite Harmonie, WBD.
Police say that Narine and his uncle, Gansham Singh, were on a bicycle heading home when the suspect, who was riding an electric bike, attacked Narine.
The teen’s uncle ran away, leaving behind the scuffle. As he fled, he looked back and saw the suspect, who was armed with a pair of scissors, deliver two stabs to his nephew.
Narine was stabbed to the lower abdomen and to the left shoulder. The suspect then made good his escape on his electrical bike.
The uncle then picked up the bicycle in an attempt to take the victim to the station but the 19-year-old collapsed on the road.
He then rode his bicycle to the station and reported the matter. A Police vehicle went to the scene where the victim was picked up and rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital. However, he succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
At about 19:00hrs last evening, further investigation were conducted into the said matter, where a detective questioned several persons and certain information was received including the suspect’s correct name and address. He is being sought.
Investigations are ongoing.
