Police in Regional Division Five conducted an operation between 14:20hrs and 15:00hrs yesterday at Hopetown, West Coast Berbice, during which three persons were nabbed with a quantity of marijuana and suspected stolen items.
Acting on information received, the party of police ranks went to the home where they found two men and a woman, sitting in front of a black plastic bag and several zip lock bags containing marijuana.
The persons were told of the offence, arrested and cautioned.
Further searches were conducted in the house and the following articles were found:
1. One EPICA weeding machine
2. One Feiyipu music box
3. One total welding helmet
4. Two DCF drills with one bag
5. Four G-clamps.
The three persons, the cannabis, and the mentioned articles were taken to Fort Wellington Police Station.
The cannabis was weighed and it amounted to 474 grams. It was marked, sealed, and lodged.
Investigations are in progress.
