A 61-year-old Security Guard, Mark Yaw, is believed to have committed suicide after he collapsed dead at a city hotel around 10:30hrs today.
According to a police report, the hotel’s Manager found Yaw sitting on a chair breathing heavily in the hotel’s office.
The Manager asked Yaw if he was fine, but the 61-year-old man reportedly said “suicide”, as he attempted to stand up.
However, he fell to the ground before the manager and her husband attempted to assist him to walk. They then contacted 911.
Shortly after, the ambulance arrived, and the victim was found to be unresponsive. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Etwaru.
No marks of violence were seen on the body.
Investigation ongoing.
