Hamza Samuels called “Bad Coolie”, 22, of ‘D’ Field Sophia, East Coast Demerara (ECD) and 18-year-old, Emmanuel Hale, also of ‘D’ Field Sophia ECD were both charged with three counts of Robbery Under Arms under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law Offences Act Chapter 8:01.
They were also charged with the offence of abduction committed on Joshua Singh, under Section 4 of the Kidnapping Act Chapter 10:05.
They appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court via Skype before Magistrate Liverpool, where the charges were read to them. They pleaded not guilty and were remanded to prison until September 7, 2022.
Samuels and Hale were allegedly involved in a series of robberies committed earlier this month, after they reportedly stole a car and placed the taxi driver, Singh, in the trunk. He remained there until cops intercepted the vehicle on the East Bank of Demerara after a shootout with the suspects.
Bad Coolie likely had an Indian mother and a black sire.
