Two Albouystown youths were today remanded to prison on armed robbery charges.
Junior Jordan, a 32-year-old labourer of Non-Pariel Street and Brandon Robinson, an 18-year-old of Hunter Street, Albouystown, Georgetown were arrested and charged for armed robbery committed on Marlon Reynolds, a 23-year-old soldier.
Robinson was arrested on October 1, 2022, while Jordan was arrested on the 3rd.
They appeared at the Cove and John Magistrate Court where the charge was read to them and they were not required to plea. The duo was remanded and the matter was was adjourned to November 7, 2022 for statements.
Reynolds was robbed on September 29, 2022, at about 00:30hrs at Good Hope, Phase 3, East Coast Demerara by three men armed with handguns.
Reynolds was robbed of:
1) One Red and Black XR motorcycle (value unknown), bearing registration number CJ 4308 — property of the Guyana Defence Force.
2) One white and black iPhone 8+ valued $80,000
3) $15,000 dollars cash (GC)
It is alleged that the victim was in front of his girlfriend’s home at Phase 3, Good Hope access road when he was confronted by the suspects who drove up in a dark-colour Toyota Vitz motor car. The driver pointed a suspected AK rifle at the victim while another male jumped out from behind the driver’s seat and pointed a small handgun at Reynolds and told him not to move. They then relieved the victim of the above-mentioned items.
