Aftar Wazidally, a 21-year-old of Lot 67 Scottsburg Village, Corentyne Berbice has succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident that occurred on October 22, 2022, at about 07:45hrs on the No. 75 Public Road, Corentyne.
The accident involved a motorcar, PPP 8156, owned and driven at the time by Mary Ann Lionel, a 21-year-old woman of No. 71 Village Corentyne, and motor car, PWW 5659, owned and operated at the time by Wazidally.
Wazidally succumbed to his injuries at about 13:30hrs on Monday.
According to initial Police enquires, motor car PWW 5659 was proceeding north along the western drive lane on No. 75 Public Road at a fast rate of speed when the driver overtook three vehicles before losing control.
The vehicle collided with the front portion of motor car PPP 8156, which was proceeding south along the eastern drive lane of the road.
As a result of the collision, both drivers received injuries and were picked up by Public spirited citizens in a conscious condition and were taken to seek medical attention.
