Police ranks from Regional Division 4’C’ yesterday found 570 grams of cannabis hidden under a bucket in an abandoned yard at Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
A report from the Police Division indicates that between 9:00hrs and 12:00hrs on Friday, Deputy Superintendent Dufu, Inspector Wallcot and a party of Policemen conducted a ‘cordon and search’ exercise in Britton Street, Plaisance where several persons and the area were searched. The ranks found a black plastic bag containing a quantity of cannabis leaves, seeds, and stems under a bucket in an abandoned house.
The cannabis was taken to the Sparendaam Police Station where it was weighed and amounted to 570 grams. It was then sealed and lodged in the general property book. No one was arrested.
