The main suspect in the murder of 41 year-old Shimron Adams has provided a detailed confession to detectives about his reasons for murdering the Lodge businessman. Andrew Ridley told detectives that his sole objective on Boxing night was to rob Adams.

A source close to the investigation revealed that the former wanted man observed Adams for days before committing the act. The source could not say however whether or not there was a nexus drawn between the story told by the girlfriend and Ridley’s confession.

He told detectives that the weapon found in his home was the weapon used to kill Adams. Ballistic testing has also proven this. The source said that the other accomplice had denied killing Adams but confessed to his part in this robbery. The items taken from Adams have not been recovered according to the source.

Ranks in the District Six area were given notice to look out for 20 year-old Akelow Marshall, who apparently had plans to leave Guyana through Suriname after his friend, Andrew Ridley was arrested yesterday.

A source confirmed that Marshall of Independence Boulevard, East La Penitence, Georgetown, has been arrested and brought to Georgetown for questioning in his involvement in the murder of 41 year-old Shimron Adams.

After more than 24 hours in custody, the girlfriend of Adams broke her silence and confessed to police that she was aware that her long-time lover had intentions of harming the 41-year-old businessman. She claimed that Ridley was jealous and told her to cut ties with her lover. The woman told detectives that Ridley promised to “sort out” Adams if she did not end their relationship.

The woman told detectives that she did not take the threats from Ridley seriously. Adams was later robbed and killed later that evening at his bar on Boxing night.
