World-renowned UK driller, Noble Corporation said it is seeking information from appropriately qualified local professionals to provide offshore medical support services aboard its advanced fleets.

The company which has been working for ExxonMobil Guyana through its subsidiary, Noble Drilling (Guyana) Inc., issued the notice this week.

The scope of work is expected to include but not be limited to the provision of offshore medical technicians, onshore project support, onshore clinic/hospital liaison, case management, Medical Emergency Response Plan (MERP), supply of medical equipment and supplies (including prescription drugs), inventory management, personnel management, training, medical record-keeping, health & wellness promotion, inspections/quality audits, and telemedicine.

The Request for Information is valid until January 16, 2023.

The need for foreign companies to utilize Guyanese for their medical support services is made possible through the implementation of the Local Content Legislation. The Act explicitly states that companies must ensure 25 per cent of their medical needs are provided by Guyanese. The deadline given for compliance in this regard was from January to December 2022.

The landmark legislation is expected to undergo a review shortly.
