The Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday with NBR Cooling Systems Pvt Ltd. (NBR), one of India’s most reputable providers of engine radiators and coolants. The signing took place at the close of the Global Investors Summit in New Delhi, India.
Mr. Rafeek Khan, President of GMSA signed the MoU with Mr. Aarif Hussain, Director of NBR. Also present from GMSA were board members Rosh Khan and Shyam Nokta.
Guyana Standard understands that NBR has been involved in the radiator business for the last 20 years. It is a well-established manufacturer of an array of engine radiators, radiator cores intercoolers and condensers, and engine coolants.
As part of the MoU, GMSA will identify and engage Guyanese companies or form consortiums to establish a manufacturing/assembly plant in the Engine Cooling (Automotive) Sector. The selected company will also leverage NBR’s full range of high-quality raw materials and components, market resources, and access to international compliance codes and practices.
NBR committed to injecting an approximate sum of US$1M. The framework for the business will incorporate: the transfer of skills and technologies for manufacturing and assembling radiator condensers and charge air coolers from India to Guyana. It will also entail the manufacturing and production of radiator condensers and charge air coolers made from aluminum, copper, and brass and assembling and exporting various radiator condensers and charge air coolers to all the countries in Latin America and the USA.
