Police ranks on patrol at 28 Miles, Amelia’s Falls Access Road, Upper Essequibo River last Wednesday night seized a 12-gauge shotgun and one matching round from a 35-year-old man of Phase 1 B Wisroc, Wismar, Linden.
The ranks, led by a detective sergeant, were on patrol duty when they observed a make-shift wooden and tarpaulin camp a short distance from the Essequibo River.
The cops proceeded to the camp where they observed the 35-year-old man, who identified himself as a security guard. During a search of the camp, the shotgun was found wrapped in a hammock. The firearm, which bore no serial number, was loaded with a 12-gauge cartridge.
The suspect under caution told the cops: “Officer, I hunt with this gun to make me lil side hustle on my lil security work. I got $200,000. What y’all can do for me?”
The man was immediately arrested and escorted to the Mackenzie Police Station along with the shotgun and cartridge. He remains in custody pending further investigation and charges.
