A former beauty queen is still missing in the United States of America (USA). Thirty-three year-old Ruqayyah Boyer has been missing for almost a week after being last seen in the Chicago Union Station in Illinois.
Boyer is a former Miss Guyana World, Miss Guyana Universe and Miss Guyana International title holder. According to Boyer’s family, she was last seen on February 16. The family broke its silence yesterday and made an appeal for Boyer’s safe return.
Relatives were also concerned about her mental state, saying this might have contributed to her disappearance. Boyer was also recently ordered to a mental facility by the courts in the US where she spent several weeks.
The former beauty queen’s sister, Marisela Simon, along with other family members, continued to call for her safe return and pleaded with anyone in the Chicago area to be on the lookout for her.
Simon further explained that sometime last week, Boyer was released from a hospital in Washington, District of Columbia. Based on information received, Boyer reportedly made her way to Virginia and before relatives could reach her, she left Virgina for Chicago.
The sister further noted that for days, family and relatives have been tirelessly making efforts to locate her. The woman said that pin-pointing Boyer has been a Herculean task in their efforts to locate her, especially since she keeps moving to various states.
Family members are hoping that anyone who would have information about her whereabouts would contact telephone number 347-600-5810.
