Dwayne Thompson, a driver from Charity River Dam, Essequibo Coast, was charged on Wednesday for driving under the influence of alcohol at Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast.
The defendant appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $30,000, and his Licence was endorsed. In default, he will face one month of imprisonment.

Junior Norton, a 25-year-old driver of Reliance, Essequibo Coast, was charged yesterday (Wednesday) for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, which occurred on February 24, 2023, on the Reliance Public Road, Essequibo Coast.
The defendant appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam, where the charge was read to him, and he pleaded guilty.
He was fined $30,000, and his Licence was endorsed.
