Police are currently investigating an alleged murder that occurred on Saturday, at Lot 57 Fourth Street Alberttown, Georgetown. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Esan Hamilton, a construction worker residing at the same address. Hamilton was allegedly murdered by his girlfriend, Aaliyan Lewis, who is also known as “Dacia”.
Police arrived at the scene at around 8:30 am after receiving a report of the incident. According to a police release, Hamilton and Lewis shared a common law relationship and lived together with their three children in one of the three bedrooms on the upper flat of a family house at Fourth Street, Alberttown.
The aunt of the deceased, Stacey Moses, reported that she was in the kitchen when she saw Hamilton come out of his bedroom holding his left side abdomen shouting, “Look what Dacia did to me.” Moses placed him in a chair in the living room, where she saw what appeared to be a stab wound to his left side lower abdomen. She then saw Lewis exit the same room holding a silver knife in her hand.
Moses asked Lewis what she had done to Hamilton, but she did not respond. Moses then alerted another family member and called a taxi to take Hamilton to Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he later died while receiving treatment. The police recovered two knives from the scene, and an examination of Hamilton’s body revealed a single stab wound to the left side abdomen. His body is currently housed at the GPHC mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Aaliyan Lewis, aka “Dacia,” was arrested and taken into custody at the Alberttown Police Station. Police said they will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder.
