ChampionX, an oilfield services company operating in Guyana, is looking for local suppliers to provide an array of services to support its operations.
The ExxonMobil contractor has published several Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for travel agencies, training services, recruitment services, medical services and office cleaning services.
Under the RFP for recruitment services, the company noted that it currently has in its employ, 13 persons that were hired through an employment agency, however, it has plans for further capacity building.
Further, its RFP for staff training services, it noted that that under its Mandatory Training Programme, it intends to provide a refresher training to its current 13 employees and also onboarding training for its new hires. “The trainings are expected to be completed periodically with a portion of employees or in group trainings,” the company stated.
Persons bidding for this contract must be able to provide training programmes such as Basic Survival Offshore (BOSIET), Tropical Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (THUET), First Aid & CPR, Fire Warden / Fire Extinguisher, Hazardous Spill Response, Forklift Certification 3T / 16T, Container Reach Stacker, IMDG – DOT Training, Hazardous Waste Management (RCRA), Defensive Driving, Respirator Fit and Training, Working at Heights / Harness Use, Banksman and Slinger, HAZWOPPER and Gas Detection & H2S Awareness.
In addition, the company was keen to note in its RFPs/EOIs that companies bidding for these contracts must be registered with the Center for Local Business Development (Guyana) and must also possess all of the necessary requirements of the Local Content Act 2021.
ChampionX is said to be a global leader in upstream and midstream oilfield technology solutions, chemistry programs and services,
drilling technology, artificial lift solutions, and automation technologies for the oil and gas industry. The company has been servicing Guyana’s oil and gas industry since its September 2021 startup and has a storage facility located at Mc Doom on the East Bank of Demerara.
