Zalena Ali, also known as Kim Ali, a 59-year-old housewife from Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara, has been charged with making threats against the President of Guyana, Dr. Irfaan Ali. She was also charged with the attempt to excite hostility or ill-will towards Raynard Sobers.
The charges were read to her on Thursday at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Sunil Scarce.
Ali pleaded guilty to the charge of Attempt to Excite Hostility or Ill-will and was fined $75,000. However, she pleaded not guilty to the charge of Threatening Language and was placed on $25,000 bail. The case has been adjourned until May 18, 2023.
