Jeremy Smith, a 31-year-old resident of Lot 139 Meadow Brook, Georgetown, was charged yesterday for the offence of ‘Larceny From the Person’ committed on Lenese Bobb-Semple.
Smith is accused of stealing one gold chain valued at $91,000 from Bobb-Semple on April 19, 2023, at Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
The charge was laid under Section 182 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act Chapter 8:01.
The accused appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty, and bail was granted in the sum of $40,000.
The matter was postponed to June 2, 2023, for disclosure.
