Authorities have confirmed the death of 14-year-old Sherana Daniels, who had been hospitalised following a fire at the Mahdia Secondary School dormitory that killed 18 of her schoolmates and a boy.
The Micobie Village girl died at approximately 10:30 hours while receiving treatment.
Daniels was one of two girls listed as critical. She was air-dashed to the capital following the fire on May 21.
Meanwhile, the bodies of Bibi Jeffrey, Belnisa Evans, and Loreen Evans have been flown to their hometown of Karisparu for funeral arrangements. The tragic incident at Mahdia Secondary School has deeply impacted the region, as the loss of young lives has left families and communities in grief and sorrow. The 15-year-old who is accused of setting fire to the dorm has since been charged with 19 counts of murder and has been remanded.
