Twenty-five-year-old Veshan Bharrat of Reliance, Essequibo Coast, was charged with the offence of Larceny of Cattle which occurred between May 28 and June 1, 2023, at Henrietta, Essequibo Coast.
The accused was charged with stealing three rams (sheep) valued at $180,000, property of Ayube Hamid. He was charged with the offence Contrary to Section 176 of the Criminal Law Offences Act, Chapter 8:01 which was read to him by Magistrate Esther Sam at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court last Thursday.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment.
