Police in Regional Division #5 said they are investigating an incident where a three-year-old was forgotten in a locked car.
Enquiries revealed that a male taxi driver was responsible for taking several children to school as well as picking them up. On Friday, he reportedly made several trips and about 09:15 hrs, he secured his car on the road and went into his house.
When he returned 30 minutes later, the driver told cops that he observed the child in the back seat of the car in tears. He immediately rushed the child to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital for medical attention.
Doctors determined that the child was dehydrated and needed oxygen. He was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he is presently receiving oxygen.
A report was made to the police and the driver has been detained pending further investigations.
