Two men were sentenced to 35 months imprisonment for armed robbery (cutlass) committed on a 55-year-old man on June 16, 2023, at Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice (WCB).
The accused are Balram Latchman called ‘Chris’, of lot 13A Bath Settlement, WCB and Marcus Marcel, also known as ‘Buckman’, of Estate Road Experiment Bath Settlement, WCB.
Both accused appeared at the Blairmont Magistrate’s Court on Monday before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh, where the charge laid under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01 was read to them. The Administration of Justice Act (AJA) was applied and they both pleaded guilty and were each sentenced to 35 months imprisonment.
