Police are investigating an alleged armed robber committed on a 44-year-old man of Belvedere North, Corentyne, Berbice, which occurred last Thursday about 17:45hrs.
Initial investigations revealed that two men, one armed with a gun, robbed the victim of $5.5M.
At the time of the alleged robbery, the victim had just arrived at his Belvedere Corentyne home in his motor canter #GAC 1261. He had the $5.5M cash in a bag on the passenger’s seat when the two bandits approached on a red and white XR motorcycle and pounced on him, pointing a firearm and demanding that he hand over the bag. The bandits then made good their escape.
No one was injured. Investigations are ongoing.
