The suspect in the murder of 42-year-old Construction worker, Eric Fraser, called ‘50 Cent’, of Haslington North, East Coast Demerara turned himself over to police on Saturday. The suspect, Terrence Sam, called “Poke-eye”, a 51-year-old Security Guard of Haslington, surrendered to ranks at the Brickdam Police Station.
He was escorted to the Cove and John Police Station, where he was video-interviewed and admitted to the act under caution. He was placed into custody.
Investigations revealed that the now-deceased man and the suspect were liming at Mogo Barbershop located at Haslington North. An argument erupted between Eric Fraser and the suspect over an old grievance. As such, the suspect took a knife and dealt Fraser a stab in his groin. Fraser collapsed and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation for medical treatment, but was pronounced dead. The body is at GPHC’s mortuary awaiting a Post-Mortem Examination
