Region Four Chairman, Daniel Seeram was today placed on $50,000 bail in a domestic violence matter at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court, East Coast Demerara.
Seeram, a former Guyana Defence Force captain, is accused of assaulting his wife. He pleaded not guilty to the charge. The regional official was represented by attorney-at-law, Bernard Da Silva.
Last year, Seeram, a People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) Executive Member, was charged with threatening behaviour committed against his father-in-law.
The Leader of the PNCR, Aubrey Norton, has since called on Seeram to the “decent” thing and resign.
