The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is investigating a murder committed on Amit Singh, which occurred about 14:15 hrs today (Tuesday) at Middle Road, La Penitence by four individuals.
Preliminary information revealed that the victim was lured by four suspects to a house in Middle Road La Penitence. They reportedly told the young man they had gold to sell.
Whilst at the house, the four suspects brutally murdered the victim and wrapped his body in a sheet. Guyana Standard was informed by officials reviewing the case that Singh bears several head injuries, indicating that he was beaten to death.
This news agency understands that the suspects locked the building with the victim’s body inside. They then fled the scene with the cash and gold.
Based on intelligence received, ranks from the Criminal Investigations Department arrested one of the perpetrators. He has since confessed to the crime and is assisting investigators.
