Fifty-seven-year-old Kirk Jardine also known as ‘Chow Pow’ of Greenheart Street, South Ruimveldt was this morning placed on $50,000 bail for allegedly assaulting his 22-year-old daughter.
Jardine appeared before Magistrate, Rondell Weever at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts when the charge was read to him.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on Friday October 27, at Georgetown, he assaulted his daughter.
The police prosecutor made objections to bail being granted to the defendant on the grounds of the severity of the assault. It is alleged that Jardine assaulted his daughter after she had left the East Ruimveldt Police Station. There, she made a report against her ex-boyfriend.
Jardine’s lawyer, Khemraj Ramjattan made a bail application for his client which was granted with conditions attached. Jardine is not to be within 100 yards of his daughter, is not allowed to contact her and is required to report to the police station.
Jardine returns to court on November 6, for the continuation of the matter.
