From the vibrant area of Hogg Street, Albouystown, two brothers employed within the Guyana Police Force (GPF), Kwame and Wesley Harris proudly graduated on Saturday from the University of Guyana with Diplomas in Public Management.
Both are also in the third year of completing their Degree Programmes.
Guyana Standard understands that Kwame, Police Prosecutor attached to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), achieved a 3.0 GPA during his Diploma programme. Wesley, a hardworking Presidential Guard attained a 3.1 GPA.
Their distinct, yet intertwined roles speak of a shared purpose—to protect, to uphold, to serve.
Both brothers told Guyana Standard that they want their journey to be an example for other youths of Albouystown. “We want to be an example of ambition and resilience to other young men in our community. We are not stopping here. We intend to keep climbing the ladder of academic excellence.
“We want other young people, especially the men, to be inspired and follow in our footsteps and see that it is possible,” Wesley shared in a brief comment.
Kwame proudly holds the title of Sergeant of Police, while Wesley, with his unwavering dedication, stands as a Corporal of Police.
