The Guyana Manufacturing Services Association’s (GMSA) efforts to support Guyana’s economic diversification took center stage at its Annual Presentation and Awards Dinner last evening at the Marriott Hotel as US Ambassador, Nichole Theriot commended the organization for its outstanding contributions throughout the year.
Ambassador Theriot lauded GMSA for its pivotal role in Guyana’s development, recognizing its support for multiple trade delegations and its advocacy for the adoption of safe and secure technology.
“As the last award, focusing on the adoption of safe technology, was presented, GMSA’s commitment to Guyana’s continued development and economic diversification was underscored,” Ambassador Theriot noted. In her affirmation she noted that this solidifies GMSA’s position as a driving force behind Guyana’s economic transformation.
The ambassador acknowledged GMSA’s corporate social responsibility initiatives and civic leadership, emphasizing the association’s dedication to inclusive growth that uplifts everyone.
Ambassador Theriot also commended GMSA’s deep involvement in advocating for policies that enable private sector growth, attract private investment, and deepen commercial linkages. She said the association’s multifaceted approach, including support for trade delegations and the promotion of safe technology, aligns with the United States’ values and objectives in Guyana’s development.
“The private sector has been deeply invested in this, and with organizations like GMSA, we can work together to promote physical and psychological safety in the workplace,” Ambassador Theriot stated. She highlighted the potential impact of such collaborations on workplace productivity, morale, and effectiveness, underlining GMSA’s pivotal role as a champion and collaborator in this effort.
Furthermore, Ambassador Theriot acknowledged GMSA’s President, Ramsay Ali’s personal involvement in numerous corporate social responsibility projects. Ambassador Theriot expressed confidence in GMSA’s ability to collaborate in promoting workplace safety, ultimately boosting productivity, morale, and effectiveness.
