Police are investigating an alleged murder committed on Dwayne Byass called ‘Eddo’, a 27-year-old of Golden Fleece, West Coast Berbice (WCB), which occurred about 12:50hrs today at Middle Street Paradise, WCB.
Enquiries disclosed that on the date and time mentioned, Byass and the 26-year-old suspect, Nascio Allen called ‘Buck Boy’, were at a shop playing dominos. It was during that session that the two had an argument and a fight ensued. Allen then pulled out a knife, stabbed Byass in his left side abdomen and ran out of the shop.
He was seen running away with a knife in his hand. Byass who collapsed in the shop, was picked up by his cousin and rushed to the Mahaicony Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr. Samaroo.
The body was examined and one wound was seen on the left side abdomen with the intestine protruding. The body is lying at Bailey’s Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem examination.
After committing the act, this news agency understands that the suspect went to the Weldaad Police Station and stated that Byass attacked him with a piece of wood. He also claimed that the victim ran into a knife which he (Allen) had in his hand. After making his report, he was promptly arrested and placed into custody.
