Kwami Browne, an 18-year-old unemployed man of South Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was arrested on Wednesday by a rank from the Cove and John Police Station and charged today with the offence of larceny in a dwelling house.
Browne is accused of committing the said crime against his mother Shaundel Browne. He robbed her home of $80,000 cash and one cellular phone valued at $50,000 on Wednesday.
About 10:10 hrs this morning, the accused appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, where the charge was read to him.
He pleaded not guilty. However, Browne’s mother (virtual complainant) offered no evidence against the accused. Hence, the matter was dismissed.
