SLB Guyana, formerly known as Schlumberger, a global oil field services company dedicated to driving energy innovation, recently issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking inspection and certification services for its oilfield operations. This initiative it said, underscores SLB’s commitment to advancing energy solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and integrity.

The RFI emphasizes SLB’s focus on innovation within the oil and gas sector, highlighting efforts to decarbonize industry practices and deliver digital solutions at scale. With a vision of paving the path to net zero and beyond, SLB is seeking suppliers capable of providing inspection and certification services in accordance with industry-leading standards.

Key requirements outlined in the RFI include performing inspection and certification services, field evaluation, quality assurance, and technical assurance. All testing labs are expected to adhere to recognized protocols such as ASTM, ISO, and API standards. Additionally, specific tests, including but not limited to phenols in water, fuel oil analysis, pour point determination, and viscosity measurements, are specified in the RFI.

SLB stressed its ongoing commitment to fostering strong relationships with suppliers who uphold professional, ethical, and cost-effective practices aligned with SLB’s policies and business objectives. By leveraging innovative technologies and collaborating with trusted partners, SLB aims to enhance operational efficiency and deliver outstanding performance for its customers and stakeholders.

This RFI comes in the context of SLB’s significant presence in Guyana, including its US$75 million oil services facility established in 2017. As the world’s leading provider of technology for reservoir characterization, drilling, production, and processing, SLB continues to play a pivotal role in supporting oil and gas operations in the region. Notably, SLB provides technical support for Exxon’s activities in the Stabroek Block, contributing to the exploration and development of proven reserves.

Interested companies are urged to register with the Centre for Local Business Development (CLBD) and provide verification of registration along with their submissions. A comprehensive company profile, including local content certification and relevant credentials, must accompany expressions of interest (EOI) submitted to [email protected] before March 31, 2024.
