Detectives are investigating a shooting incident that left a 26-year-old man hospitalized with five gunshot wounds. The incident occurred on Monday last at approximately 11:30hrs in Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown.
The victim, identified as Shane Bourne, was reportedly approached by two unidentified males on a motorcycle, one of whom fired several shots at him. Bourne was struck four times in his right thigh and once in his left thigh. The suspects fled the scene.
Bourne was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital by public-spirited citizens and is in stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
