Residents along the East Bank Demerara (EBD), as well as those traversing the Soesdyke/Linden highway and its surrounding areas are set to benefit from a $100M hotel resort.
Originally conceived as a humble restaurant and bar, the Plasma Rock Resort is now envisioned as a full-fledged hotel, aiming to bolster tourism in Guyana. In the project summary submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the developer who was not named, noted that the project will be a haven for travelers and locals alike.
Designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings, the resort will boast partially enclosed meeting areas that harness ample natural light and enhance airflow, creating an inviting ambiance. The proposed restaurant with Malt and Wine Facility is expected to serve up a diverse menu of creole dishes and beverages, operating daily from 08:00h to 21:00h, catering to both dine-in and take-out patrons.
On weekends, the lively bar will come to life, offering a variety of alcoholic beverages to an estimated 20-30 patrons, with numbers expected to swell during holidays and special occasions.
Providing accommodation for weary travelers, the hotel features nine cozy rooms, six of which are currently operational, ensuring round-the-clock service to guests. Beyond its core offerings, the Plasma Rock Resort extends its hospitality with pool services, special holiday functions, and venue rental for weddings and other events.
It was noted in the project summary that the development will be situated on a leased plot of land spanning 0.2479 acres. It was also noted that Plasma Rock Resort represents an investment of approximately GYD$100 million.
