Deandrell Semple, a 20-year-old resident of Lot 30 Kingelly Village, West Coast Berbice, was charged today with manslaughter, following the shooting of 18-year-old Jared Jagnandan.
Jagnandan was reportedly shot on March 21 of this year at his place of work, SMK Shaf Auto Sales located at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara. Semple was the security guard who allegedly shot the teen.
At about 10:00 hrs this morning, the accused appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court No.1 before Her Worship Magistrate Fabayo Azore, where the charge was read to him.
He was not required to enter a plea. Bail was granted in the sum of $1,000,000. The defendant was also ordered to lodge his passport.
The case was adjourned to July 8, 2024, for report and disclosure.
