Neldon Neblett, called ‘Jojo’, a 27-year-old porter of Lot 1 Best Village, West Coast Demerara, was charged today with murdering his reputed wife, Anuradha Khatoon, called ‘Mama’, a 30-year-old vendor.
The accused appeared before Her Worship Magistrate Rhondel Weever at the Wales Magistrate Court, where the indictable charge was read to him.
He was not required to plea and was remanded to prison.
The case was adjourned to July 6, 2024, for report. The matter was also transferred to the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate Court.
According to reports, Neblett fatally stabbed the victim after he came home intoxicated and was cautioned about drinking.
